PROGRAMS

Artlands Gallery & Shop is our small but mighty space for both established and emerging artists located in downtown Redlands, CA. Since May of 2019 it has served as our home-base and a community space for art exhibitions, musical performances, workshops, book signings, film screenings & more. The space has hosted many well-known artists, but for many artists that have shown and displayed merchandise here, it was their very first experience in a gallery setting. Many artists have gone on to show in other galleries and even open spaces of their own, solidifying the space’s reputation as a cultural incubator for the Inland Empire art community.

La Matadora is our post modern art gallery partner located in Joshua Tree, CA. Founded, operated, and curated by Colleena Hake since 2017 and located in Joshua Tree’s iconic Art Queen complex, the gallery hosts art shows, artist talks, book signings, and other art happenings. It is a community hub for the local high desert art scene.

Artlands Coachella Valley, formerly The Coachella Valley Art Scene, carries on the work of cultivating a creative community using art advocacy as a platform to safely express, educate, empower and engage the Coachella Valley. Artlands CV strives to create a positive economic environment for artists and the creative class. Through the use of our media based website, workshops, educational seminars, community events, art exhibitions, and festivals.

The Coachella Valley Art Scene was founded by Sarah Scheideman in 2008 and has been a catalyst for the emerging art scene ever since. Previously occupying physical gallery spaces in Cathedral City, CA and later in Palm Desert, CA at the Westfield Mall it has provided opportunities for emerging artists through art exhibitions, workshops & crafting events, music festivals, and public art projects. The CVAS became a nonprofit organization in 2014 and has partnered with the Coachella Music Festival, FYF Fest, and the Arroyo Seco Music Festival in Pasadena, CA. In 2022, it merged with The Artlands and formed The Artlands Creative, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Artlands REACH (Residency & Environmental Arts Community Hub) is an environmentally focused artist in residency program which is currently in development and will have programming in both Redlands, CA, and in the Morongo Basin area of the California high desert. The program will build a community garden, and native plant space that will be located in a public park in Redlands, CA and will be home to REACH’s Inland Empire-based arts and cultural programming. Programming in the Morongo Basin will be hosted at Big Morongo Canyon Preserve in Morongo Valley, CA.

The Recycled Art Supplies project came about after the pandemic exposed that students were unable to participate in art activities or programs due to a lack of materials.
Teachers found their students without paper and pencils let alone crayons, paints, or art supplies.
After the first Recycled Art Supplies Drive, we collected over a thousand dollars worth of art supplies donations and were able to distribute these supplies to various schools throughout San Bernardino County.
The Recycled Art Supplies seeks to help their community through providing free access to visual arts in order to encourage future creative minds.
